Accra: Faustina Fosu, sister of the late highlife musician Daddy Lumba, has publicly condemned the negative remarks made about her brother and her family following his passing. Speaking at the commemoration of Daddy Lumba's one-year anniversary, Faustina expressed her disappointment with those who continue to criticize the deceased and emphasized her decision to leave judgment to God.
According to Ghana Web, Faustina articulated her stance on the issue, highlighting her belief in accountability. She remarked on the inappropriateness of speaking ill of a deceased person and maintained that while she does not respond to insults directed at her, those responsible will eventually face the consequences of their actions.
During the anniversary event, which also confirmed the musician's burial site at East Legon, Faustina reiterated her decision to remain unaffected by derogatory comments. 'A person is dead, and people are speaking badly of him behind his back; that is wrong. If you insult me, I don't care, and I won't mind you, but what might happen later is that you may not even find me to apologise. It's not everyone you disrespect or insult,' she declared.
Faustina further stated that she has not wronged anyone and trusts in divine judgment for those who attack her. 'A stranger can call and insult me. I leave all of that to God, and He will judge us all because I haven't offended you in any way,' she asserted.
Her participation in the anniversary was solely to support her family in mourning the loss of her brother. 'It's my brother who is dead, and I have decided to come and assist. I can't just sit at home, cook and eat while my brother is gone. So if I am here to help and you insult me, I leave you to God because He speaks for the voiceless,' she explained.
Reflecting on her personal struggles following her brother's death, Faustina shared her challenges with sleeplessness and her gratitude for God's sustaining grace. 'If not for the grace of God, I wouldn't be alive. There were times I could sit all night until daybreak without being able to close my eyes and sleep, so I thank God for that,' she revealed.
Her statements were made as part of the family's gathering to commemorate the legacy and life of Daddy Lumba, one year after his passing at his East Legon residence.
