Farmerline’s Darli AI Recognised on TIME’s List of Best Inventions of 2024.

Accra: Darli AI, an innovation of Farmerline Group, a global pioneering AgriTech company, has been named one of TIME's Best Inventions of 2024. This recognition highlights Darli AI's unique ability to empower small-scale farmers globally by bridging language gaps and offering sustainable agricultural solutions in their local languages. According to Ghana News Agency, Darli AI allows farmers in countries like Kenya, Ghana, and others across Africa, Asia, and South America to interact directly in over 27 languages, including Twi, Swahili, and Yoruba. The system utilizes both WhatsApp chatbots and a conversational IVR system for low-resource languages, allowing farmers to engage with the AI through simple calls or texts. There are currently one million listeners to the Darli Helpline being onboarded onto the service, enabling them to receive real-time advice on various agricultural aspects, such as fertilizer use, crop rotation, and market access. The AI has three core functions: teaching regenerative farming practices, tracking knowledge transfer, and monitoring and measuring impact by capturing data on yield improvement and carbon sequestering. Darli AI assesses the real-world impact of sustainable farming practices, ensuring farmers not only receive but effectively apply key insights. Alloysius Attah, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Farmerline, explained that Darli is democratizing access to regenerative farming by supporting farmers in their local languages and ensuring a lasting impact. TIME revealed its annual list of the Best Inventions on October 30, 2024, featuring 200 extraordinary innovations that change lives.
