ACCRA: Ghanaian socialite, actress, and media personality Efia Odo, born Andrea Owusu, has sparked a debate with her candid opinions on submission within romantic relationships. Her comments challenge the conventional wisdom that women should automatically submit to their male partners, arguing instead for a more merit-based approach.
According to Ghana Web, in a recent episode of her popular podcast “Rants, Bants and Confessions,” Efia Odo outlined her criteria for a man deserving of her submission, emphasizing the significance of responsibility and personal growth. “Before I can submit to a man, he has to have a certain level of responsibility. You need to be a provider, a man who respects himself, someone I can grow with, and learn from,” she stated.
Efia Odo, known for her previous role as co-owner of Eats Avenue, contended that genuine male leadership naturally encourages female submission. She questioned why women wouldn’t submit if the man fulfills his expected role, suggesting that competent leaders
hip from men naturally elicits a submissive response from women.
The media personality also addressed what she perceives as illogical expectations in relationships, challenging the mindset of men who demand submission without proving their worth. “If a guy isn’t doing anything, why would you expect a woman to submit? It doesn’t make sense,” she argued.
