EDB Mauritius and GIPC Lead Investment Delegation to Accra for Strategic Business Forum

Accra: The Economic Development Board (EDB) Mauritius, in partnership with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), is set to host a high-level closed Business Forum in Accra on Friday, May 22, 2026. This event aims to bolster investment, trade, and economic cooperation between Mauritius and Ghana.

According to Ghana News Agency, the forum, themed 'Mauritius: Your Strategic Platform for Ghanaian Capital, Growth and Global Expansion,' will bring together senior representatives from leading Mauritian financial institutions and Ghana's top business executives, investors, and policymakers. The event is structured to include strategic sessions and direct engagement, targeting C-Suite executives, directors, senior partners, prominent investors, and relevant government and institutional stakeholders, all by invitation.

The Accra Forum is part of a broader three-country corridor initiative, with previous stops in Lagos on May 18 and Abidjan on May 21. This initiative underscores EDB Mauritius' commitment to deepening investment linkages across West Africa's key economic centers. Ghana's position as the final stop highlights its status as a stable, high-growth investment destination of increasing regional significance.

The forum comes at a crucial time for Ghana's economy, which is experiencing a resurgence in investor interest and project development following a period of macroeconomic adjustment. EDB Mauritius aims to be an active partner in this growth trajectory, offering Ghanaian businesses a proven platform for structuring cross-border investments, preserving capital, and accessing international markets.

The delegation arriving in Accra will include senior representatives from around 20 Mauritian financial institutions, such as Tier-1 banks, fund managers, and corporate service providers. These institutions are equipped to offer financing solutions across various structures, including debt capital, equity capital, mezzanine, blended, and bridge financing.

Ghanaian enterprises will gain direct access to financing solutions for short, medium, and long-term needs. Additionally, the forum will provide pathways to fund domiciliation, asset management, insurance, venture capital, private equity, and capital markets structuring through Mauritius.

The forum's scope spans industries like oil and gas, agriculture, renewable energy, manufacturing, and engineering, but it will focus intensely on Ghana's financial services sector. The Mauritian delegation aims to engage with banking institutions, investment funds, insurance companies, fintech firms, law firms, and accountancy practices in substantive discussions.

The forum's objective extends beyond introductory engagement. Preferred outcomes include executed Memoranda of Understanding, Term Sheets, and Letters of Intent, which will lay the foundation for ongoing cross-border investment activity between Mauritius and Ghana.

The event will feature Dr. Mrs. Jyoti Jeetun, Minister of Financial Services and Economic Planning of the Republic of Mauritius, and Mr. Simon Madjie, the Chief Executive Officer of GIPC, whose participation emphasizes both countries' commitment to the initiative.
