Dzodze, Ghana: The Dzodze District Police Command has successfully arrested three individuals suspected of being involved in a series of armed robbery incidents on the Dzodze to Ho Highway. This operation comes in response to recent concerns about safety on this stretch of road, particularly after warnings circulated on social media.

According to Ghana News Agency, the police conducted a strategic operation the previous day leading to the arrests. The communiqué also mentioned that an identification parade for the suspects would be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 1200 hours at the Dzodze Police Station. This event is aimed at assisting in further investigations and ensuring proper identification of the perpetrators.

A recent advisory on WhatsApp had cautioned travelers using the Dzodze-Tadzewu-Ho Highway to be vigilant, particularly during night travel, due to the risk of armed robberies. In a communiqué issued on November 24 by Superintendent of Police (Supt) Christian Dogbatse, the Dzodze District Police Commander, details of the police operation and subsequent arrests were disclosed.

The Dzodze Police have urged any members of the public who may have been victims of recent armed robberies on the highways or in surrounding areas to come forward. They are requested to participate in the identification parade to help accurately identify their attackers and facilitate the legal process.

This action by the Dzodze District Police Command signifies a robust response to the public’s safety concerns and a commitment to curbing criminal activities in the region.
