Keta: Commuters and drivers on the Keta-Havedzi road, in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region, have expressed satisfaction with the ongoing road patching efforts championed by Mr. Wisdom Seade, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area. The road, which had been in a deplorable state, has seen significant improvements since the MCE initiated the patching works and has reduced the level of unexpected accidents on the road.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Eugene Dzimabi, a taxi driver at Havedzi, stated that many drivers in Keta, Havedzi, Vodza, Kedzi, and the surrounding areas had been vocal about their appreciation for the efforts being made to improve the road network. 'This is a welcome relief, the road is becoming impassable, and it is great to see the MCE taking the steps to address the issue by initiating the road patching practices,' he said.
He mentioned that other drivers who ply the route daily had all lauded the efforts, stating that the patching works had made a significant difference in reducing travel time and damages to their vehicles. Struggles with potholes and rough terrain, which had persisted for so long, had been reduced because of the improvement.
Mr. Dzimabi added that the Keta Municipal Assembly, under the leadership of MCE Seade, had been working tirelessly to address the infrastructure challenges facing the municipality. The patching of the Keta-Havedzi road, among others, was part of a larger effort to improve the overall road network in the area. 'We are very happy about the proactive approach by the MCE to address the needs of the community, especially the road. He is listening to the people and taking action, and that is what we need, leaders who are committed to making a difference,' he said.
Madam Peace Ama Agbelenugor, a commuter, noted that the improvements to the Keta-Havedzi road are expected to have a positive impact on the local economy, with increased access to markets and services.
