He later joined the Ghana Health Service, serving as Head of Finance at various health facilities across the country, including in the Ashanti Region, where he held key financial management responsibilities. Currently, Dr Tahiru works as an International Business Agent, managing financial transactions and providing business support services to organisations and clients.
His decision to contest for the National Treasurer position has received reactions from party members across various networks and platforms, with many expressing confidence in his ability to strengthen the party's financial management systems. Supporters describe him as a financial professional with industry experience and an understanding of Public Financial Management laws and regulations.
His experience also includes managing constituency campaign finances for the NPP in the Wa Central Constituency during the 2012 general elections. Dr Tahiru's expertise spans fundraising, business networking, financial management, and investment principles, qualities supporters believe will help strengthen the financial base of the party if he is elected.
He has pledged to leverage his experience in both the corporate and public sectors to enhance the fortunes of the NPP through prudent financial management, effective resource mobilisation, and strengthened financial accountability.
