Dr. Adam Bonaa Criticizes Anonymity Behind Ghana Jollof TikTok Account

Accra:Dr. Adam Bonaa, Executive Secretary of the National Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons, has raised concerns over the anonymity of the individual(s) managing the Ghana Jollof TikTok account, following claims of a coup d'etat made on social media.

According to Ghana Web, Dr. Bonaa, speaking on The Lowdown on GhanaWeb TV, highlighted the seriousness of making coup-related statements, considering Ghana's tumultuous history with military takeovers. His experiences growing up in Tema during periods of military coups, where he witnessed their devastating effects, influenced his perspective on the matter.

He expressed skepticism about the intentions of those making such statements while concealing their identities. Dr. Bonaa questioned the rationale behind hiding if the comments were intended as harmless jokes, drawing comparisons to comedians who perform openly without anonymity.

Dr. Bonaa further argued that individuals should be transparent and identifiable when making controversial comments, particularly if security agencies need to question them. He criticized the support for such statements and questioned the societal implications.

In response to the situation, the Ghana Police Service has declared Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, believed to be the person behind the Ghana Jollof TikTok account, as wanted.
