Dormaa-Ahenkro: Madam Rachel Owusua, the Member of Parliament for Dormaa East Constituency in the Bono Region, has committed to establishing award schemes for teachers and nurses within the area. These schemes aim to recognize and reward the dedication and hard work of these professionals, thereby enhancing the quality of education and healthcare services in the region.
According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Owusua discussed her plans with the media, emphasizing her collaboration with the Dormaa East District Directorate of Health and the District Directorate of Education to finalize the modalities for the scheme’s implementation. This initiative, a part of her Election 2024 campaign promises, is slated for inauguration in 2026.
The awards will focus on the conduct, diligence, and commitment of the personnel involved. Madam Owusua highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration, indicating her intention to work closely with the District Assembly to facilitate the district’s development. She also urged the community to follow proper channels for addressing grievances and emphasized the need for the District Assembly to effectively implement government policies for the benefit of the people.
In her commitment to improving healthcare outcomes, the MP pledged to expand healthcare facilities to ensure accessible services. She expressed gratitude to Nana Kokoti Diamono Asamoah, the Chief of Mansen (Wamfie), for providing land for constructing essential facilities and expanding the district hospital.
Additionally, Madam Owusua is dedicated to supporting local farmers to boost food production and creating job opportunities for the youth, urging job seekers to remain patient as efforts are made to improve employment prospects in the area.
