Don’t trust those who resigned to run for president – Lydia Forson indirectly slams Alan Kyerematen, Dr. Afriyie Akoto

Ghanaian actress and social commentator, Lydia Forson, has advised her fellow Ghanaians to be careful about persons who come to them for their votes.

Promises made by people who have just resigned from government to chase their political dreams are soft and non-credible, according to the actress.

She explained in a tweet spotted by this portal that those people making promises to Ghanaians were part of the current government that inflicted pain on Ghanaians.

According to the award-winning actress, Ghanaians must resist the hypocrisy of such politicians.

“Do not trust any presidential candidate who only resigned to run for president and not because they saw wrongdoing and wanted to do the right thing,” she wrote.

Though not directed at anyone, the former Trade and Industry Minister, Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, recently resigned and declared his presidential ambitions.

In his address to the nation, the trade expert promised to introduce a Great Transformational Plan (GTP) and build on some ten measures to redeem Ghana from its current economic predicament when voted president.

The former minister is reported to have also said that he will run a smaller government and scrap the controversial electronic transaction levy (E-levy) in his time as president of Ghana.

Dr. Akoto Owusu Afriyie, the former Food and Agriculture Minister also resigned from his post but is yet to declare his presidential ambition, though people say his resignation was for that purpose.
