Osun: Afrobeats star David Adeleke, known widely as Davido, on Thursday captivated the audience by joining his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, at a campaign rally and roadshow in anticipation of the upcoming August 15 governorship election. This event is a part of the ongoing political activities in the state, as Governor Adeleke seeks re-election for a second term.
According to Ghana Web, a video that surfaced on social media showcased Davido and the governor's son, Sina Adeleke, also known as Shina Rambo, navigating through a dense crowd to reach the campaign stage. Both were seen climbing over railings, with Davido donning a traditional jalabiya and requiring assistance to get over the barricade. Shina Rambo also needed help before joining the governor on stage.
Once on stage, Governor Adeleke was observed dancing and singing along to Davido's hit track, 'Feel,' from the artist's Grammy-nominated album, Timeless. The heartfelt embrace between Davido and his uncle, followed by their spirited dance, drew enthusiastic cheers from the crowd. This display of camaraderie quickly became a highlight of the rally, earning widespread attention and praise from the attendees.
The roadshow follows Davido's recent call for a peaceful and credible election process. He urged voters to eschew violence, intimidation, and electoral interference, emphasizing the importance of exercising democratic rights peacefully. Governor Adeleke, representing the Accord Party, is set to compete against All Progressives Congress candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, known as AMBO, in the forthcoming election.
