Crystal Palace Give Guard of Honour to AFCON Hero Ismala Sarr

London: English Premier League club, Crystal Palace, have celebrated their winger Ismala Sarr for winning the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with the Teranga Lions of Senegal. The Senegalese star returned to Crystal Palace Training Ground on Thursday, January 22, 2026, following Senegal's AFCON trophy parade celebrations in Dakar on Tuesday, January 20.

According to Ghana Web, Crystal Palace gave a guard of honour to Ismala Sarr in recognition of his achievement with the Senegalese national team and his representation of the Eagles in the tournament held in Morocco. The club shared a video of the guard of honour on social media, captioning it "A hero's welcome for Ismala Sarr."

Senegal clinched the AFCON title on Sunday, January 18, 2026, marking their second triumph in the competition's history. They secured victory by defeating host nation Morocco 1-0 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. With this win, Senegal joins the ranks of countries that have lifted the Africa Cup of Nations more than once.
