Court remands two for robbery

Accra, An Accra Circuit Court has remanded two persons into Police custody for conspiracy to commit crime and robbery.

The accused, Eric Bio, 21 and Felix Dogbe, 20 would reappear on Monday May, 21.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Victor Dosoo told the court presided over by Aboagye Tandoh that the complainant Godfred Kyere was a Dispatch Rider, residing at Nsakina, a suburb of Accra.

He said on April 26, about 2010 hours, the complainant who was going to the University of Professional Studies Campus (UPS) Accra alighted at Legon bus stop and started walking towards the campus but was suddenly approached by the two accused who were riding a motorbike.

He said they pulled a knife on the complainant and ordered that he should bring out any money on him.

The prosecution said complainant told the accused that he had no money on him but they subjected him to a thorough search and robbed him of his black school bag containing a bible, spiritual story book, motor rider’s license, Techno mobile phone valued GH300.00 and cash of GH25.00 and then sped off.

He said about 2300 hours the Police snap check at the Accra Psychiatric Hospital around Asylum Down intercepted the two and searched them, on Felix a machete was retrieved.

The prosecution said The complainant’s black school bag was also retrieved from him and Eric who was also found with a jack knife and two mobile phones which one was later identified as the complainant’s phone.

The Police traced complainant, who came to identify the accused.
