Adukrom (E/R), July 28, GNA – The construction of a 40-bed Okere District Hospital, part of the government’s Agenda 111 initiative being implemented in five districts in the Eastern Region, is continuing apace at Adukrom.

The initiative also benefits the New Juaben North District Hospital in Jumapo, Kwabeng in the Atiwa East District, Nkwatia in the Kwahu East District, and Achiase.

Mr Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, Minister of Health, broke ground on a 10-acre parcel of land donated by a citizen in August 2020.

Vamed Construction, a multinational company, is working on the project.

Mr Daniel Kenneth Addo, Okere District Chief Executive, told Ghana News Agency that the project was about 40 per cent complete and that it would be fully completed on time to meet the people’s health needs.

“The greater excitement for us in Okere is that our district was created in 2017 and in just four years we are swinging in many developmental projects including having a district office” he said.

“The people of Okere will forever remain grateful to our indefatigable Member of Parliament, Mr Dan Botwe and President Akufo-Addo for the provision of infrastructure to improve the people’s wellbeing.”

The agenda 111 healthcare infrastructure was launched two years ago to ensure access to quality healthcare services.
