Sadzikofe: A newly completed three-unit classroom block has been commissioned at Sadzikofe in the Afadzato South District, marking renewed commitment to education infrastructure development in the Volta Region. The facility, inaugurated by Mr. James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister, is expected to ease congestion and improve teaching and learning in the growing community.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Gunu praised the District Chief Executive (DCE) and the Assembly for their dedication to expanding educational opportunities for rural communities, stressing the importance of quality learning environments for academic progress. He highlighted President John Dramani Mahama's National Apprenticeship Programme, which aims to provide students with practical pathways into technical and vocational careers. "Government is making the needed resources available so young people can acquire employable skills," he added.
Responding to appeals from residents, the Minister pledged to support the school with football jerseys, balls, and other learning-enhancing items to encourage both academic and extracurricular development. Mr. Manfred Tawiah, the District Chief Executive, noted that the project began about five years ago but faced long periods of delay. "When I assumed office, I ensured the contractor was paid so work could resume, and today, we are happy to hand it over to the community," he stated.
Traditional leaders, teachers, and residents of Sadzikofe expressed gratitude to the Minister and the District Assembly for their continued investment in education. They described the project as a timely intervention that would stimulate enrolment and improve learning outcomes in the area.
