Chief commend President for laudable interventions

Nsuta (Ash)- Nana Boamah Kwabi IV, the paramount chief of Beposo Traditional Area in the Sekyere Central District has applauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for introducing various policy interventions to improve the lives of Ghanaians.

He said the free Senior High School Programme, Planting for Food and Jobs and the restoration of Teachers and Nurses allowance had significantly impacted the lives of many Ghanaians.

The chief made the commendation when the President paid a courtesy call on him as part of his five-day Ashanti Regional tour.

The President who was accompanied by some ministers of state, Members of Parliament as well as Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives was on his second day of the tour to cut sod for projects, inspect ongoing ones and engage the people.

Nana Kwabi IV praised the President for a good job done so far, saying most of his policies were impacting on many lives.

He touted the President as a man of his words, adding that he was gradually delivering his campaign promises to Ghanaians.

The chief who had promised to support the government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during the 2016 election campaigns donated 400 acres of land in support of the one district one factory initiative.

He told the gathering that he had already released 5,000 acres of land for the cultivation of cassava under the Planting for Food and Jobs Programme and commended the President for awarding some roads in the area on contract.

The chief expressed the hope that more roads would be fixed to facilitate smooth transportation of farm produce to market centres adding that the rural communities in the area were in dire need of electricity and appealed to the president to include them in government’s rural electrification agenda.

President Akufo-Addo praised the chief for his passion for development and assured that his government would put the land to good use to benefit his subjects.

He said the Planting for Food and Jobs Programme was an intervention to modernise agriculture and thereby increase food production and increase the income levels of farmers with the overall target of enticing the youth into farming.

The President said government would continue to pursue pro-poor policies that would empower the people to harness their economic potentials to improve their lives.

The President earlier on visited the North American Farms, Wontumi Farms and Rockland Farms, all in the Sekyere Central District.
