Accra: Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has expressed his admiration for individuals engaged in the kenkey and fish business, affirming his respect for all forms of legitimate work irrespective of their scale. He emphasized that there is no such thing as a menial job and declared his openness to engage in any lawful trade, including selling koko (porridge), if necessary.
According to Ghana Web, Chairman Wontumi made these remarks during an interview on Movement TV, which was observed on June 10, 2026. He reflected on his attraction to legitimate business opportunities and reiterated his belief that every honest job deserves respect, regardless of its nature or perceived status.
In the interview, the outspoken politician disclosed his plans to venture into the food business by establishing a kenkey and fish joint in Accra. "One thing I have always admired is a man who sells kenkey and fish. I do not shy away from any kind of job. Even if it gets to the crunch and I have to sell koko, I will sell it," he stated with conviction.
Chairman Wontumi shared that his fearless character is linked to the unusual circumstances of his birth and expressed his genuine embrace of all kinds of legitimate employment, whether small or large. "I'm planning to start a kenkey and fish joint in Accra. It just happened that I became an NPP politician, but honestly, I embrace all kinds of legitimate jobs, regardless of whether it is a small business or a big one," he explained.
