Accra: Kids from the Western Regional branch of the Captain One Golf Kids project made their mark at the recently held National Junior Golf Games at the Achimota Golf Club in Accra. The event, organized by the Junior Golf Foundation under the auspices of the Ghana Golf Association, aimed to provide young golfers with an opportunity to exhibit their talent and compete in a friendly environment.
According to Ghana News Agency, Captain One Golf was represented by 12 junior golfers trained in partnership with the Tarkoradi Golf Club under the guidance of professional golfer, Alex Afful. In the competition, John Amuzu secured first place in the six holes event, while Sally Nketsia claimed the top spot in the three holes category. Gladys Mensah earned second place in the nine holes competition, with Kevin Ansah and Kojo Anumel finishing second and third in the nine holes and six holes events, respectively.
Mr. Pius Ayeh Appiah, President and founder of the Captain One Golf Society Kids project, expressed pride in the children's performance, commending their commitment and determination. He emphasized the importance of providing young golfers with opportunities to learn, compete, and develop their skills, noting the achievements as a testament to what can be accomplished through discipline and hard work.
He extended gratitude to the Takoradi Golf Club for fostering an environment conducive to the development of these young talents and for their integral role in the children's journey. Additionally, he thanked Flo Polo Designs - Floria Hurtubise for her valuable support, along with Coach Alex and the representatives from Egyam Children's Home for their assistance and encouragement during the trip.
Mr. Appiah highlighted Captain One Golf Society's dedication to nurturing the next generation of golfers through the Captain One Kids Project. He called upon corporate Ghana and philanthropists to support young talented kids in realizing their dreams in the sport of golf, acknowledging that success is possible when young people are given the right support and opportunities.
