Accra: CEO of Ruff Town Records, Bullet, has publicly disclosed details regarding the music royalties of the late Ghanaian musician Ebony Reigns and his ongoing relationship with her father. In a revealing interview on Okay FM with host Nana Romeo, Bullet stated that he recently sent $100,000 to Ebony's father. This sum, he explained, accounted for 50% of the royalties from the late singer's music.
According to Ghana Web, Bullet shared that the original agreement stipulated that Ebony was entitled to 20% of the royalties. However, he alleged that Ebony's father pressured him into increasing her share to 50%. Bullet further claimed that Ebony's father had repeatedly requested money from him, including funds that were initially designated to support and promote Ebony's first concert.
Despite the financial demands, Bullet said he continued to fulfill his obligations. He recounted an incident following the first-ever Ebony party, where Ebony's father insisted on receiving his daughter's money. Bullet mentioned, "The money was meant to promote and campaign for Ebony's work, but I went with him to the bank and withdrew it for him. He doesn't talk about it anywhere."
Bullet expressed his frustration over Ebony's father's public criticisms, noting that these overshadow the support and financial assistance he has provided over the years. "I gave Ebony's father $100,000 recently, which is 50% of Ebony's royalties," Bullet reiterated, highlighting the lack of public acknowledgment for his contributions.
