Brighton: Brighton and Hove Albion head coach Fabian Hurzeler has stated that the club will make a strategic decision regarding Ghana international Ibrahim Osman's future as the young winger aims to secure a spot in the Seagulls' first team. Osman, who joined Brighton from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland, has struggled to establish himself in the Premier League squad.
According to Ghana Web, the 21-year-old has spent time away from Brighton to gain valuable first-team experience through loan spells in France, the Netherlands, and England during the previous season. He began the campaign with French club AJ Auxerre, then moved to Dutch club Feyenoord for further development, before joining England's Birmingham City for the latter part of the season. At Birmingham, Osman made 18 appearances, scoring two goals and providing two assists, adapting to the demands of English football.
Osman has returned to Brighton for pre-season ahead of the 2026/27 campaign. His performances have impressed Hurzeler, particularly during Brighton's 3-0 victory over AS Roma in a pre-season match. The Brighton coach has acknowledged Osman's progress but emphasized that the club will carefully assess his situation before deciding on his future.
Hurzeler told The Argus, "I'm also impressed by him (Osman) so far, so let's wait how this continues, and then we make the best decision for him and for the club." This statement provides encouragement to Osman, who is eager to prove himself worthy of a more significant role in the team.
As the new season approaches, Osman faces competition in Brighton's attacking lineup. However, his diverse experience across multiple countries may play to his advantage. The Ghanaian is expected to have another chance to showcase his skills when Brighton faces Bologna in a pre-season match on Saturday at 14:00 GMT.
