BOST Energies Reports GHS684 Million Profit and Declares First Dividend

Accra: BOST Energies Limited Company (BOSTenergies) reported a profit after tax of GHS683.96 million for the year 2025, marking a significant financial achievement for the company. This announcement was made during the company's 2026 Annual General Meeting held in Accra, where it was also revealed that BOSTenergies would pay its first-ever dividend to the Government of Ghana.

According to Ghana Web, the company recorded GHS3.81 billion in revenue, marking a 195 percent increase from the previous year. The profit after tax surged by 72 percent, while total assets rose by 50 percent to reach GHS3.99 billion. Shareholder equity more than doubled, amounting to GHS1.47 billion during the reported period. Additionally, BOSTenergies managed to reduce its administrative expenses by 28 percent, attributing this to improved operational efficiency and stronger cost controls.

A key highlight of the year was the declaration of a GHS34.2 million dividend to the government, representing five percent of the company's net profit. This dividend payment is the first in the company's 32-year history, signaling a milestone achievement for BOSTenergies.

Afetsi Awoonor, the Managing Director of BOSTenergies, described 2025 as a defining year for the company, emphasizing the growth in revenue and profitability, along with a strengthened balance sheet. Awoonor stressed the importance of commercial discipline, prudent financial management, and operational efficiency as key factors in the company's performance. Looking ahead, he outlined plans to strengthen operations, drive efficiency, and create long-term value for the government and stakeholders.

Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, the Minister of Energy and Green Transition, commended BOSTenergies for its financial growth and improved operational efficiency. He offered his support to the company's board and management, encouraging them to build on the successes of 2025. Professor Michael Kpessa-Whyte, Director-General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), also praised the company's improved performance and urged continued efforts towards growth and increased state value.

BOSTenergies aims to leverage its infrastructure and commercial capabilities to support Ghana's energy security while adapting to changes in the energy sector, ensuring sustainable growth in the downstream energy market.
