Accra: The Managing Director of BOST Energies Limited Company, Afetsi Awoonor, has declared the company's readiness to support the implementation of the government's 24-Hour Economy Policy. Awoonor emphasized the importance of energy in this transition, describing it as the "lifeblood" of a round-the-clock economy.
According to Ghana Web, Awoonor highlighted that BOST Energies possesses the necessary infrastructure, systems, and operational capacity to ensure an uninterrupted fuel supply as Ghana moves towards a 24-hour economic model. With over three decades of operations, BOST Energies plays a crucial role in Ghana's energy sector by efficiently transporting petroleum products from coastal receipt points to inland demand centers.
Awoonor elaborated on the company's robust network of depots, integrated value chains, and logistics corridors, which form a solid foundation for continuous fuel distribution. Speaking at the launch of the 24-Hour Economy Pilot Programme for the petroleum downstream industry, organized by the National Petroleum Authority in Accra, he referred to President John Dramani Mahama's 24-Hour Economy Policy as a significant initiative aimed at enhancing productivity and unlocking economic potential.
He further explained that BOST Energies has strategically invested in storage, transmission, and logistics infrastructure to maintain the availability, accessibility, and security of fuel at all times. Awoonor acknowledged the efforts of John Abdulai Jinapor and Edudzi Kudzo Tameklo in leading the initiative and emphasized the need for collaboration among security agencies, customs authorities, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure the safety and efficiency of extended-hour operations.
Awoonor concluded by stating that building a 24-Hour Economy is a collective national effort, with the petroleum downstream sector serving as an ideal starting point due to the essential role of fuel in enabling economic activities.
