Ayawaso East: Vote for Me Because I Have Not Had Any Governance Appointment – NDC Aspirant

Accra: Dr Yakubu Azindow, a contender in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Ayawaso East parliamentary primaries, has urged delegates to give him a chance. He emphasized that he is the only aspirant who has not yet benefited from government appointments since the party came to power.

According to Ghana Web, in a video shared by Citi FM on Facebook on Friday, February 6, 2026, Dr Azindow noted that his opponents have benefitted from various government appointments. He cited Baba Jamal Ahmed, the High Commissioner to Nigeria, as an example of those who have been favored with appointments.

Dr Azindow further mentioned the wife of the late former MP of the constituency, highlighting her multiple appointments under the government. He pointed out that she is a member of three different boards: the Hajj Board, the Sankofa Prestea Mines, and the Lands Commission Board. Additionally, Dr Azindow noted that the party's constituency chairman, who is also vying for the seat, holds an appointment as the National Liaison Officer for NADMO.

Emphasizing his contributions to the NDC, Dr Azindow expressed that despite his efforts, he has yet to be offered any government position. He argued that since he has not been appointed, it would be only right for him to be elected to represent the constituency.

Dr Azindow concluded by appealing to the delegates, asserting that the absence of a government appointment for him creates a fair opportunity for him to replace the current MP. He expressed confidence that the delegates would understand and support his candidacy.
