Abomosu:The real cause of death for 14-year-old Daniel Boateng Mintah, a student at Abomosu STEM SHS, has been disclosed through an autopsy report provided to the school's authorities. The findings contradict earlier reports suggesting his death occurred under mysterious circumstances at the school.
According to Ghana Web, the autopsy revealed that Daniel Boateng Mintah died of Cerebral Malaria, a severe and life-threatening complication resulting from Plasmodium falciparum infection that impacts brain function. This condition is considered a medical emergency and necessitates immediate hospital treatment.
The death of Boateng Mintah had caused controversy, with parents demanding accountability from the school authorities since September. In an exclusive interview with GhanaWeb, Daniel Oppong Adams, Chairman of the PTA of Abomosu STEM SHS, confirmed receipt of the autopsy report by the school, which cleared them of any misconduct related to the student's death.
Oppong Adams mentioned that the school was informed by the police about the autopsy findings and that the report absolved the school of any involvement in Mintah's death, confirming it as a natural cause. The school plans to inform the public about the circumstances surrounding the student's passing.
Daniel Boateng Mintah had started at the school on September 18, 2026, to study computer engineering. On September 30, 2026, his family was informed of his illness and later learned he had been brought dead to Kwabeng Hospital. His mother, Joyce Mintah, had been in communication with him earlier that day before receiving a call about his health condition and the need for treatment.
The family expressed difficulty in obtaining timely updates on his condition. Eventually, they were instructed to go to Kwabeng Hospital, where they were informed of his death.
