Atebubu: The Atebubu Pragya Cooperative Transport Society, an umbrella organisation for tricycle riders, has been officially launched to enhance the welfare of pragya riders in the region.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Ernest Agyei, Chairman of the Society, stated that the organization aims to unite the riders and address emerging challenges within the sector. Speaking at the launch event in Atebubu, Bono Region, Mr Agyei highlighted that the society currently comprises 89 members. "We have come together to promote the economic, social, and cultural interests of the members," he noted.
Mr Agyei also expressed optimism that society members would adhere to road safety regulations, contributing to improved order on the roads. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Julius Akpelime commended the society's formation, emphasizing the importance of educating members on road safety to reduce accidents. He also urged those without a riding license to obtain one to bolster their economic activities and society's growth.
The event concluded with the induction of new executives into office.
