Assemblyman Addresses Concerns After Helicopter Crash at TMA Daycare

Tema: Ahmed Abdullia, the Assemblyman for the Kwesi Plange Electoral Area in Tema, has assured residents that no students were injured following a fatal helicopter crash at the premises of TMA Daycare. He made the assurance in an interview with the media on Monday, March 16, 2026, after visiting the crash site.

According to Ghana Web, Abdullia expressed the unprecedented nature of the incident in Tema, highlighting the presence of debris, including numerous iron rods, at the scene. He mentioned that the school was undergoing construction as part of a developmental initiative spearheaded by the mayor. Despite the incident, Abdullia conveyed hope that the tragic event would not impede the educational progress of the students, emphasizing efforts made to ensure their safety.

The crash resulted in the deaths of at least two individuals, including the pilot aboard the helicopter. The Ghana National Fire Service responded swiftly to the incident, working to extinguish the ensuing flames. In collaboration with the Ghana Police Service, emergency personnel managed to retrieve the charred bodies of the victims from the wreckage.

Authorities have commenced an investigation to determine the cause of the crash, seeking to understand the factors that led to this unfortunate event.
