Assembly Member Urges Religious Leaders to Engage in Community Development

Denkyira nkotimso: Mr John Mensah, the Assembly Member for Denkyira Nkotimso in Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region, has called on religious and traditional leaders to actively participate in community development efforts. Emphasising the importance of cleanliness, Mr Mensah urged churches, mosques, and traditional areas to engage in clean-up exercises to maintain tidy environments. He also highlighted the need for these leaders to support developmental projects in their areas to facilitate community growth.

According to Ghana News Agency, this appeal was made during a recent clean-up activity in Denkyira Nkotimso. Mr Isaac Nsiah, the District Chief Executive for Upper Denkyira West, reinforced the message by highlighting the link between living in clean conditions and maintaining good health. Mr Nsiah stated that the district had implemented several measures, including placing dustbins at strategic locations to enhance good sanitation practices.

He further encouraged traders to properly dispose of waste by using designated bins after their daily market activities. This initiative aims to save the Assembly significant sums used for waste clearance, allowing those funds to be redirected towards developmental projects.
