Armed Forces SHTS Qualifies for Round of 32 in Boys Soccer Games

Kumasi: The Armed Forces Senior High Technical School (AFSHTS) in Kumasi has qualified for the round of 32 in the inter-schools' boys soccer games, marking a significant achievement after four consecutive failed attempts since the 2021/2022 academic year.

According to Ghana News Agency, this accomplishment came following a victory against three schools-Apagya Senior High School (SHS), Mansoman SHS, and Morso SHTS-with a total of eight goals, securing six points at the group stage. Mr. Ebenezer Amega, head of the Sports Department of AFSHTS, shared in an interview that the boys soccer games are organized by the Ashanti Regional Schools and Colleges Sports Federation.

He detailed that the team triumphed over Apagya SHS with a one-nil goal, drew with Mansoman SHS, and scored five goals to none against Morso SHTS to qualify. Mr. Amega expressed that the sports department's dedication and persistence have finally yielded results, enabling the team to play at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Despite challenges with the school's field conditions, Mr. Amega highlighted the unwavering commitment to training and efforts to improve the field for their players and athletes.
