ACCRA: US-based Ghanaian Archbishop Adonten Boateng has voiced his support for Dancehall artist Shatta Wale, acknowledging the musician’s controversial persona while lauding his contributions to Ghana’s music industry.
According to Ghana Web, Archbishop Boateng regards Shatta Wale as one of his favorite musicians, attributing this to the artist’s influence in elevating Ghana’s presence on the global music stage. Boateng’s comments came during a discussion about Shatta Wale’s temperament and reputation, which is often marked by heated and provocative exchanges.
“I listen to his songs and pray for him. I once watched an interview where he spoke about his mother’s neglect and how he hustled on the streets of Circle,” Archbishop Boateng stated during an interview with Fiifi Pratt on Kingdom FM. He further elaborated on how Shatta Wale’s outspoken nature stems from a place of personal pain, adding, “When he speaks loudly and insults others, it comes from a place of pain. He is not Satan or a madman, as some may
think.”
Shatta Wale’s public statements, which frequently include insults and coarse language aimed at notable individuals, have sparked criticism from various corners of the music industry and the general public.
