Africa Star and Laif Fisheries Donate Computers to Support ICT Education in Tema East

Tema: African Star Fisheries Company Limited and Laif Fisheries Company Limited have made a donation of 15 sets of computers to Mr. Isaac Ashai Odamtten, the Member of Parliament for the Tema East Constituency, to bolster his efforts in promoting Information and Communication Technology (ICT) education. According to Ghana News Agency, the donation is part of the companies' Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, which focus on enhancing technology education and fostering community development in their operational areas. Mr. Wang Guoliang, Chairman of African Star Company Limited, emphasized that the gesture aims to improve the teaching and learning of ICT, which he identified as essential for national development. He highlighted the company's ongoing support for education, sanitation, and the marine sector, noting the critical role of education in equipping young individuals for future challenges. Mr. Richster Nii Armah Amarfio, Country Director of Laif Fisheries Company Limited, reiterated the c ompanies' dedication to education in the constituency. He praised the MP's 'Back to School' programme as one of the most influential educational initiatives in Tema East and assured continued support from the company in the years ahead. In response, Mr. Odamtten expressed his appreciation for the sustained assistance from African Star and Laif Fisheries Company Limited, labeling the donation as timely and significant. He explained that the ICT tools would greatly enhance technological skills and educational outcomes in beneficiary schools. The computers are set to be distributed to St Peter's Basic School, which has been seeking ICT equipment to enhance its curriculum. Furthermore, Mr. Odamtten commended the company for organizing an annual football competition, which he said has positively impacted staff welfare, teamwork, and community relations, promoting healthy lifestyles and strengthening community bonds.
