Afadzato South DCE Donates Equipment to Enhance Local School Sports

Baghdad:Afadzato South The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afadzato South, Mr. Manfred Tawiah, has donated goalposts and footballs to the Logba Vuinta Akusame Basic School. This initiative is anticipated to significantly enhance sporting activities within the Afadzato South District.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Tawiah stated that the donation is part of his commitment to promoting grassroots football and nurturing young talent at the community level. He encouraged the students to focus on their education while actively participating in sports, urging them to make good use of the new facilities and equipment.

The Afadzato South District comprises many rural communities, including Logba, Ve, Have, Liati, and Goviefe, which possess abundant football talent but suffer from a lack of basic sporting infrastructure. The new goalposts at Logba Vuinta Akusame Basic School are expected to revive regular inter-class and inter-school football competitions, serve as a training hub for neighboring schools, and encourage girl-child participation in sports.

The DCE also mentioned that investing in school sports is crucial for building the district's representation at regional and national levels, including prestigious events like the Ghana Education Service Inter-Regional Basic Schools Sports Festival. His office, in cooperation with the District Education Directorate and the District Sports Unit, plans to initiate a district-wide school sports revival program to support other underprivileged schools with similar equipment.
