Accra:Aduana FC's General Manager, Takyi Arhin, has expressed admiration for Kurt Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), citing his significant contributions to football clubs and administrators.
According to Ghana Web, Arhin highlighted the financial packages introduced by Okraku, which have provided substantial support to clubs, something he claims was lacking in the past. Clubs have benefited from provisions such as football boots, kits, and other equipment, which have helped elevate their standards.
Arhin specifically mentioned that clubs have received financial assistance like GHS1 million for operations and GHS120,000 for first-division teams to kickstart their leagues. These contributions include vouchers for equipment and free fuel coupons, which have been well-received by the football community.
In response to criticisms regarding the poor performances of the Black Stars and other national teams, Arhin defended Okraku, stating that these teams are partly managed by the government. He emphasized that it is crucial for the government to invest in talent development, and the responsibility should not fall solely on the GFA president.
This statement comes amid increasing pressure on GFA officials to resign due to the national teams' unsatisfactory performances.
