Accra: The Ada East District Business Resource Center (BRC), under the Rural Enterprises Programme (REP) of the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, is urging the youth of Ada to apply for government grants aimed at expanding their businesses and reducing unemployment.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Prosper Tetteh Puplampu, the District Director of the BRC, revealed plans to bolster youth development through targeted training and mentorship programs. The Centre is committed to tackling youth unemployment by supporting rural enterprises and farmers in the district.
Mr. Puplampu highlighted that while many young people in Ada are industrious, they often lack the financial means to grow their businesses. He noted that several local enterprises also lack the necessary documentation to qualify for government loans or grants. To be eligible, applicants must have a business registration certificate, a verifiable business location like a stall or container, and a clear business plan.
He further explained that successful applicants will participate in a week-long training program focused on enhancing their skills in financial management and business sustainability. Mr. Puplampu encouraged business owners, start-ups, and farmers in the district to seize this opportunity, emphasizing that the government is committed to youth development for individuals aged 18 to 35.
Additionally, Mr. Puplampu mentioned that the Centre is looking for individuals interested in nursing tomato seedlings for farmers, presenting it as an immediate employment opportunity. Interested parties are advised to visit the BRC office at Atortorkorpe for more information.
