Beijing:China has responded cautiously to the Democrats' recent victory in the US congressional elections, categorizing the event as an 'internal matter' of the United States.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, expressed China's willingness to work with the US on implementing agreements made between the leaders of the two nations. She emphasized the importance of strengthening communication and managing differences effectively.
Earlier this year, Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump held meetings in Beijing and Washington. The two are anticipated to meet again in mid-November at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Shenzhen, China.
There is also speculation about a potential trilateral meeting including Xi, Trump, and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Mao mentioned that China is in contact with the relevant parties regarding this possibility but did not provide further details.
