Lawyer Pays Tribute to Late Irene Atuguba, Recounts School Prefect Nomination Experience

Accra:Private legal practitioner Clara Kowlaga Kasser-Tee has paid tribute to her late former schoolmate, Irene Atuguba, recalling how Irene and her friends nominated her for the position of school prefect at Bolgatanga Girls Senior High School.

According to Ghana Web, Kasser-Tee shared in a Facebook post that during her time in Senior High School 2, Irene approached her to inform her that the group had already completed the paperwork for her nomination. Despite her initial hesitation due to existing commitments, the nomination proceeded, and Kasser-Tee eventually won the election.

Kasser-Tee reminisced about another moment after completing her Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination when she returned to collect her results. Irene and other students cheered her on, and she later learned from a teacher, Francisca Ateere, that her results were displayed to inspire others. Beyond school, Kasser-Tee described Irene as someone who celebrated others' successes and was a hardworking individual.

Reflecting on Irene's passing, Kasser-Tee expressed her grief and called for justice after Irene was shot and killed alongside her uncle on October 30, 2026. Irene, 47, was the CEO of Kussa Shea Bliss, and her death has left a void in many lives.
