Obuasi:The Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ashanti South Region in Bekwai has forwarded the case docket concerning the alleged rape by Mr. Zakaria Abdulai, the Headmaster of the Obuasi Senior High Technical School, to the Attorney General's office for further examination and advice.

According to Ghana News Agency, a statement issued and signed by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr. Lloyd Baidoo from the Public Affairs Unit of Ashanti South Region indicated that the incident was reported on August 4, 2026. A 20-year-old Form Two student of Obuasi SHTS, accompanied by her father, lodged a complaint alleging that Mr. Abdulai 'forcibly' engaged in sexual intercourse with her on July 25, 2026, at his official bungalow on campus.

The statement detailed that the victim went near the headmaster's residence to collect her clothes when Mr. Abdulai allegedly lured her into his residence under the pretense of completing an errand. Once inside, he reportedly 'caressed and fondled her against her wishes' on his sofa. Despite her resistance, he allegedly dragged her into his bedroom and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her, later giving her One Hundred Ghana Cedis (GHC100.00) to keep silent about the incident.

The police have undertaken all necessary investigative procedures, including a medical examination, scene reconstruction, photographs, and gathering witness statements. The case docket has been forwarded to the Attorney General's office for advice and potential action.
