Obuasi:A student at Obuasi Senior High Technical School has come forward with allegations of sexual assault against the school's headmaster, Zakaria Abdulai. The student claims the incident occurred on July 25, 2026, when she was called to the headmaster's bungalow for an errand.
According to Ghana Web, the student recounted that upon her arrival, Abdulai allegedly forced her to perform sexual acts and subsequently raped her. Despite her refusal, she reports being assaulted twice by the headmaster.
The victim, in a detailed account, described how Abdulai initially invited her into his home under the pretense of running an errand. Once inside, he allegedly coerced her into performing sexual acts, eventually leading to rape. She also stated that Abdulai offered her GHS100 to silence her about the incident, which she placed in her Bible out of fear for her safety.
After the incident, the distressed student confided in her friends and her house prefect, who then reported it to the housemistress. However, the student alleges that the senior housemistress did not adequately address the complaint and was advised by another teacher to keep the incident private.
These allegations have sparked a call from SOS Ghana for counseling services to be provided to the affected students. The case remains a significant point of concern, with further developments awaited.
