38 Teachers at Obuasi SHTS Face Transfer Allegations

Obuasi:Thirty-eight teachers at Obuasi Senior High Technical School have reportedly been targeted for transfer following allegations of sexual misconduct against the school's headmaster, Zakaria Abdulai.

According to Ghana Web, the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) claims that these teachers were instructed to leave the school by September 2026. The directive was allegedly communicated by the assistant headmaster, acting on behalf of the District Director.

NAGRAT President Jacob Anaba expressed concerns over the lack of reasons provided for the proposed transfers. He noted that some of the affected teachers had been vocal about the handling of the misconduct allegations. Additionally, Anaba questioned the process by which a committee, chaired by the District Director, exonerated the headmaster despite previous complaints from students and parents that surfaced in August 2026.
