Accra:Ghana is actively working to strengthen its economic ties with other nations to promote cross-border investments, as stated by the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Alhaji Yusif Sulemana. The country aims to leverage mutual resources for the benefit of all involved parties.
According to Ghana Web, Alhaji Sulemana spoke at the Mining in Motion Summit in Accra, highlighting that the government is developing policies to facilitate capital movement across borders. These policies are designed to ensure that investments align with Ghana's economic priorities and support the nation's development goals.
The deputy minister underscored the importance of coordinated economic policies to effectively monitor the utilization of funds outside national jurisdictions. He emphasized that Ghana is pursuing measures to facilitate cross-border capital flows, which will support investment activities and create opportunities for foreign capital and resources to enter the country.
Although current legal frameworks allow for such transactions, the government is currently focusing on boosting domestic investment in critical areas. Alhaji Sulemana also pointed out the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) as a vehicle for enhancing economic ties among African nations, thereby expanding market opportunities for businesses and investors.
Ghana plans to foster partnerships with neighboring countries to ensure that economies involved can benefit from shared opportunities, thus accessing resources and investment opportunities that might not be available within their own borders. Alhaji Sulemana expressed optimism about future cooperation between countries to mutually benefit from each other's strengths.
