Accra:Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has responded to veteran actor Jide Kosoko's admission about his nervousness when she calls him for a role in her productions.
According to Ghana Web, Kosoko shared his thoughts during an appearance on the Africanist podcast, where he discussed Akindele's rigorous approach to filmmaking. He explained that working with her comes with high expectations as she strives for perfection in every scene.
Kosoko revealed that Akindele's insistence on perfection is why he feels uneasy when she contacts him. He mentioned that she might require filming a single scene up to 20 times if it doesn't meet her standards. This process involves reviewing each take, identifying issues, and requesting retakes until she is satisfied.
The actor's account offers insight into the detailed and disciplined environment on Akindele's sets, where even seemingly satisfactory takes may not be included in the final cut. A video of Kosoko's comments was shared on X on Monday, October 19.
