Kordiabe Queen Mother Calls for Development at Maiden Klamakpasafest

Kordiabe:The Queen Mother of Kordiabe, Nana Naki Otutuabo II, has urged the government to address key infrastructural needs in the community, including the construction of a senior high school, road rehabilitation, and the creation of job opportunities for youth.

According to Ghana Web, Nana Naki Otutuabo II highlighted the importance of these developments during the inaugural Klamakpasafest 2026 in Kordiabe, located in the Greater Accra Region. She emphasized that a senior high school would benefit not only Kordiabe but also nearby communities such as Doryumu, Agomeda, and Manya Jorpanya, addressing educational gaps in the area.

She also pointed out the poor condition of roads, which contribute to health issues like asthma among residents, and called for their urgent rehabilitation. Additionally, the Queen Mother advocated for the establishment of a police station to enhance security and the creation of employment opportunities to reduce youth unemployment.

The festival, organised by CF Community Focus TV under the theme 'Uniting the Shai State through Culture, the Black Star Experience in Focus,' aimed to educate young people about the Shai people's customs and traditions, promoting unity among traditional authorities and communities. Nana Naki Otutuabo II stressed the importance of cultural preservation to ensure future generations understand their heritage.

Manye Djowah Narkie Yopeyo I, Kordiabe Madaam Manye, noted that the festival was also a response to concerns about the transmission of Shai culture in schools. She announced that the event would become an annual tradition to sustain cultural education.

Setse Teye Tsaano IV, Stool Father of the Shai Paramountcy, called for unity among traditional leaders to safeguard their cultural identity. He warned that neglecting customs could undermine the Shai people's identity and emphasized collaborative efforts to preserve their heritage.

The week-long Klamakpasafest featured various cultural, sporting, and tourism activities, including a clean-up exercise, a gala, a float, and a Shai dialogue. The festival concluded with a durbar, a cultural contest, a thanksgiving service, and live band performances, highlighting the cultural and tourism potential of the area.
