Accra:Gifty Nana Afriyie, the wife of Kumawood actor Oteele, has candidly shared her thoughts on forgiving her husband after a leaked intimate video involving him and another woman surfaced. Although she has chosen to forgive him, she revealed that her response could have been drastically different if he had not shown remorse.
According to Ghana Web, Gifty admitted that the decision to forgive Oteele was challenging. She confessed that if her husband had continued to live with her without expressing regret for his actions, she could have resorted to poisoning him.
Gifty elaborated that had Oteele decided to marry the woman featured in the video, particularly as a second wife, she felt she might have been driven to kill him. She explained that the pain and hardship she endured throughout their marriage, coupled with caring for him during illness, contributed to her feelings.
Reflecting on the situation, Gifty expressed that returning to her family without anything to show for her years of commitment would have been unbearable. The thought of such an outcome, she said, could have led her to act violently against Oteele.
The controversy began when an intimate video involving Stephen Yaw Mawunyo, known as Oteele, went viral in August 2026. In response, Oteele publicly admitted his wrongdoing, expressing shame and apologizing to his family during a TikTok Live session.
