Suame Interchange Overpasses Open to Lightweight Vehicles Only

Suame:Three major overpasses on the Suame Interchange project have been opened to traffic, but they are currently restricted to lightweight vehicles. This measure has been implemented as part of efforts to manage traffic flow and safeguard the ongoing construction work.

According to Ghana Web, Ing. Jerome Osei, the Urban Roads Engineer at the Suame Municipal Assembly, stated that the decision aims to alleviate traffic congestion in the area. All local roads, including the overpasses within the project, have been completed, and phase two of the project is now more than 80 percent finished.

The remaining work in phase two involves the widening of the main road, and contractors are actively working on this aspect. To accommodate heavy-duty vehicles, alternate routes have been designated. These vehicles are advised to use routes through the Tafo - New Road to Abawa Ruth area, then proceed to Bruhukutu Junction before joining the Kumasi-Offinso main road, or alternatively, from New Road to Maase and then to Aduman.

Ing. Osei has appealed to motorists, particularly those driving heavy-duty vehicles, to adhere to these directives to facilitate smooth traffic flow and ensure the timely completion of the project.
