Accra:A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Team, Lawuratu Musah-Saaka, has criticized the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for frequently attributing its challenges to the previous government, despite having promised to reset the country and enhance governance.
According to Ghana Web, Musah-Saaka expressed disappointment during an interview on Morning Starr with Arafat Musah on Starr FM, stating that the NDC, while in opposition, had harshly criticized the former administration but now continues to reference it instead of being accountable for its own time in power.
She emphasized that the NDC had campaigned on a platform of change, pledging to improve governance, which makes its constant mentions of the past government troubling. Saaka pointed out the NDC's previous use of strong language to denounce the former administration as corrupt and criticized its appointees' conduct.
Musah-Saaka highlighted the inconsistency between the NDC’s actions in opposition and its current behavior in government, arguing that a party that promised to reset the country should focus on its own governance record. She stressed that the NDC should be held to the accountability standards it once demanded, insisting that the promises to improve must be evident in its current conduct.
