Court Decision Resolves Family Dispute Over Burial of Barima Kofi Adjei Twinin

Akyem Kwabeng:A court judgment has resolved a family dispute surrounding the properties and burial arrangements of the late Nana Barima Kofi Adjei Twinin, enabling his burial to proceed after five years of delay.

According to Ghana Web, disagreements among family members had postponed the burial and funeral rites of the former National President of the Ghana Hotels Association and CEO of Mac Dic Royal Plaza Hotel, who passed away in 2021 following a brief illness.

With the court ruling, preparations for the final burial are now underway. The ceremonies are scheduled to take place from November 27 to 29, 2026, at Akyem Kwabeng in the Atiwa West District of the Eastern Region.

Nana Barima Adjei Twinin held the titles of Dwantoahene of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area and Akyempemhene of Akyem Kwabeng. His contributions to Ghana's hospitality sector were notable, through both his hotel leadership and his role in the Ghana Hotels Association.

The forthcoming three-day funeral is expected to gather traditional leaders, family, industry colleagues, and sympathizers to bid their final farewells. The family has already started distributing invitation letters for the event.
