Kwakye Ofosu Discusses Conditions for Possible Removal of Jean Mensa

Accra:The Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has stated that President John Dramani Mahama would only consider removing the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, if there is compelling evidence of wrongdoing against her.

According to Ghana Web, Kwakye Ofosu emphasized that President Mahama is currently satisfied with Mensa's performance and has no intention of removing her without substantial reasons. During an appearance on The Key Points, a show aired on TV3, Kwakye Ofosu assured that the President has no appetite for dismissing the EC chairperson unless there is serious evidence of misconduct.

He further noted that despite receiving petitions for Mensa's removal, none have provided sufficient grounds to justify such an action. Kwakye Ofosu highlighted that President Mahama would not act on partisan motivations or remove the head of a state institution merely to appease certain groups.
