Accra:Greater Accra Region The Ghana Police Service has successfully apprehended 41 individuals during an intelligence-driven operation aimed at curbing criminal and narcotics-related activities in the Lapaz and Chantan areas.
According to Ghana Web, the operation was executed by the Special Operations Team on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at around 1200 noon. The detainees include 35 men and six women. A search of the suspects and the surrounding areas resulted in the discovery of dried leaves believed to be narcotic substances.
The police have confirmed that all suspects are currently in custody and are assisting with investigations. Authorities are working to determine the source, ownership, and intended use of the suspected narcotics. The Ghana Police Service has emphasized its commitment to taking appropriate legal action against those found guilty following the investigation.
These arrests are part of a broader initiative by the police to reduce crime and narcotics offenses in the region.
