Accra:The Chief Executive Officer of Bibiani Gold Stars, Kwasi Adu, has revealed that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has not yet distributed the promised GHS1 million to clubs in the Ghana Premier League.
According to Ghana Web, Adu mentioned that GFA officials and club representatives are expected to convene to discuss the payment modalities and other related matters.
In an interview with Sporty FM on October 16, 2026, Adu emphasized the need for a prompt disbursement of the funds, which are crucial for helping clubs manage their operations and compete effectively. He expressed understanding that the GFA leadership and the clubs will meet soon to determine when the funds will be paid. Adu also highlighted the importance of clubs having their own funds to operate independently, although he remains confident that the GFA will fulfill its promise.
GFA President Kurt Okraku had previously announced that the association would allocate GHS1 million to each Ghana Premier League club to alleviate their financial challenges, especially in the absence of a major headline sponsor for the league.
