Bosome Freho MP Accused of Pressuring for Service Passport Retention

Baku:The Majority Caucus on Foreign Affairs Committee has accused Nana Asafo-Adjei Ayeh, Member of Parliament for Bosome Freho, of attempting to pressure Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa to allow Henry Nana Boakye, known as Nana B, to retain a service passport.

According to Ghana Web, the MP and Nana B allegedly sought a special exemption from the minister, despite a directive requiring former officeholders to surrender their diplomatic and service passports.

Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah, the Salaga South MP, addressed the media, stating that Ablakwa consistently refused what was described as an inappropriate and illegal request. She further questioned Nana B's eligibility for the passport, noting his previous roles did not qualify him.

Amid ongoing disputes over the Foreign Affairs Ministry's handling of evacuations from South Africa, Asafo-Adjei Ayeh has questioned the reported GHS49.72 million expenditure, highlighting alleged inconsistencies in the Ministry's documents provided under a Right to Information request.
