Ghanaian Gospel Artist Criticizes Government’s Ban on Preaching in Vehicles

Accra:Minister Ike, a celebrated Ghanaian gospel artist, has openly criticized the government's decision to enforce stricter regulations against preaching on moving public transport vehicles. In an interview with Hot 93.9FM, he alleged that these measures are part of a broader, nefarious agenda linked to the country's upcoming elections.

According to Ghana Web, Minister Ike claims that the ban could lead to increased road accidents, suggesting it was purposely instated to facilitate spiritual rituals through the bloodshed from such incidents. He argued that prohibiting gospel preaching in commercial vehicles removes divine protection, increasing the risk of fatal accidents.

Minister Ike further questioned the government's motives, asserting that preaching on vehicles plays a role in preventing accidents by invoking divine presence. He expressed that the ban indicates a disregard for God's influence and presence in everyday life. When asked if the ban was related to electoral strategies involving ritual practices, he reiterated his belief in this connection.

The gospel artist, who is based in Canada, is preparing to release his new single "Nyame Aseda," featuring Great Ampong, on October 19, 2026.
